To support a new machining center investment at DRUMEL Industrie, Verlinde partners DOSSOT and Somiram delivered a customized lifting solution designed for a highly constrained installation environment. The project was intended to support DRUMEL Industrie’s production of larger and heavier parts while ensuring safe and efficient machine handling.
The project presented a significant technical challenge due to the extremely limited space available. The new machining center had already been ordered, and the installation area allowed only 1 meter of clearance above the machine for a 6.3-tonne crane. As a result, a standard crane solution could not meet the requirements. In addition, the project required a customized power supply system adapted to the industrial environment.

DOSSOT installed a 6.3-tonne overhead travelling crane with a span of 13,070 mm, fitted with a Verlinde EUROBLOC VT204 double-girder electric wire rope hoist. The double-girder configuration was selected to distribute the load between two rails and optimize hook height.
To gain additional height, the crane beams were directly inserted into the building walls. The solution also included a load limiter with two Maximum Working Capacity (MWC) thresholds, a programmed restricted travel area to prevent collisions between the hook and the machine, and a power supply system designed with an energy chain to minimize exposure to splinters and dust.
