The arrival of a new Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Pierre Eluard, in March has brought fresh momentum to Verlinde. Previously responsible for Southeast Asia sales at Verlinde, Mr. Eluard has spent the last three years revitalizing the company's commercial activities in the region. At the heart of the growth strategy he is now implementing at Verlinde, and as a continuation of his work in Asia, he announced the appointment of a new sales manager based in Singapore since mid-April 2024, with the objective of further developing and strengthening these efforts.
Arthur Sauchay's objective is to enhance Verlinde's reputation as a premium brand in the Asian market, which continues to experience strong growth driven by major infrastructure development, foreign investment, and increasing demand across a wide range of industrial sectors. He explains:
"The lifting equipment market in Southeast Asia is experiencing strong growth, supported by the rapid expansion of the industrial lifting sector. European and Chinese products are widely present throughout the market. Verlinde differentiates itself in this competitive environment through its high value-added technical hoists, such as our ATEX range, which reflects our premium positioning and expertise, particularly in the petrochemical industry. In sectors where customers are uncompromising about safety, ATEX certification combined with European know-how is a guarantee of reliability. We also support our growth through expertise and know-how shared with our local partners, many of whom have remained loyal to us for more than 20 years."
To achieve this objective, Verlinde relies on the experience and dynamism of its teams and local partners, while emphasizing its Next Level Partnership approach, as well as the quality and reliability of its products.
Pierre Eluard states: "We are actively working to improve our performance and strengthen our relationships with customers, particularly through our new representatives abroad. Our ambition is to move forward and innovate while remaining true to our values and continuously adapting to market developments."
Interview with Mr. Arthur SAUCHAY, Southeast Asia Sales Manager at Verlinde, Singapore
Tell us about your career before joining Verlinde
Freshly recruited after completing my studies in international business, I was fortunate to seize this excellent opportunity for a VIE (International Corporate Volunteer Program) assignment with Verlinde in Singapore. After several internships in the automotive industry, specifically in vehicle registration solutions, and an exchange program at the University of Sydney through IAE Lyon 3 in International Business, this position at Verlinde marks the beginning of the challenging international export career I aspire to build.
What is your mission?
My objective is to develop Verlinde's activities across the South Asia and Pacific region by providing local support to our partners on commercial, marketing, and technical matters. Previously, business relationships were managed from France, and we identified the need to offer our partners greater proximity with the aim of being as close as possible to their needs. I serve as a link between the teams in France and their local teams. Our goal is to promote Verlinde as a premium brand in order to stand out from both European and Chinese competitors.
Why did you choose Singapore?
This strategic location enables easy and rapid outreach throughout the region while ensuring a high level of responsiveness in supporting our partners.
Do you have local partners?
Of course. We have partners in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia, and other countries, many of whom we have been working with for more than 20 years. These partnerships enable us to provide solutions tailored to local market requirements while sharing expertise and know-how with customers across the region.
What are your short- and medium-term objectives?
To strengthen Verlinde's premium brand image and increase brand visibility, as we are still relatively little known in this region. I intend to multiply projects and seize the many growth opportunities offered by the Asia-Pacific market. Our strategy is to highlight the quality of our technical equipment, built on European expertise and designed to meet the most demanding standards.
