Tri Tunggal Fondasi was established in 2013 in Jakarta, Indonesia. The company initially specialized in crane construction, then diversified into mechanical and electrical projects, oil and gas, before expanding into other sectors in cranes and hoists. It has evolved into a multi-faceted organization employing high levels of capacity. It now employs 39 people and reached its peak turnover of 2.2 million Euros in 2019, with the aim of reaching it again in 2023.
PT TRI TUNGGAL FONDASI has been Verlinde’s new partner and representative in Indonesia since 2022.

Interview of Mr. Furniawan Tjia, Founder of Tri Tunggal Fondasi

Could you tell us about you and your company ?

I started my career in 2005 as a sales engineer in cranes and components. After always meeting sales targets and developing a crane market in Balikpapan, I decided to take a new challenge as a regional sales manager in fluid systems for supplying its products into multiple industrial fields (such as biopharmaceutical, oil and gas, mining, and semiconductors). In 2012 I was approached again by KONE Cranes, one of the biggest cranes manufactures in the world, to work for them as a regional sales manager and responsible for developing market in South-East-Asia.
In 2017 I took over PT. Kharisma Crane, which is experience in crane fabrication since 2004, and founded PT. Tri Tunggal Fondasi specializing in cranes and components. After struggling in the first years, the company has grown into a multi-layer organization with professional and experienced employees. We started our company as a contractor specified in material handling with cranes for workshops or production. Nowadays, we cover a wide range of projects, such as mechanical and electrical, oil and gas, and many more crane projects. We were an authorized distributor for Yale in Indonesia from 2018 to 2022.

How did your partnership with Verlinde come about?

Verlinde’s export sales team had identified several countries where business development actions were needed and had been looking for a new partner in Indonesia since the beginning of 2022.
Initial discussions between Verlinde and PT Tri Tunggal Fondasi took place in July 2022 and the partnership officially began in August.
The first order for 4 VM Essential hoists (2 VM2s and 2 VM3s) was placed in October, and since then the projects have gone from strength to strength. Verlinde and PT Tri Tunggal Fondasi are working together to promote the Verlinde brand.
A project with two VT4 hoists has just been won over the competition for a paper mill.

What is precisely your activity and specific activity?

We have a service contract with PT. Asahimas Glass, PT. Tanjung Enim Lestari (paper mill), PT Banten Energy (Power plant). Our team of 20 technicians, 10 welders and productions and 9 supporting employees provide services for all brands in Indonesian market.

What are your vision and mission?

Could you give us an example of implementation that reflects our know-how?

Our longest span that has been fabricated in our factory is 33 meters span with 25 tons capacity.
This is installed in industrial area Cikampek, West Java - Indonesia.
Other interesting project is a double girder crane with 24 meters and 60 tons. This is installed in Batam, Indonesia.

What is your customer strategy?

PT. Tri Tunggal Fondasi primary goal of meeting customers’ construction needs through quality and successful relationships with management teams. These are shown by our sales and customer growth. We offer national pre- and -construction services, job site and project management, administrative support, and document control.
Indonesia recovers from Covid-19 crisis very well and there are a lot of on-going crane projects from government in 2023.

What is your short-term growth strategy?

Our objectives are to provide after sales service of all brands and maintenance service and refurbishment of cranes. We are working together with a main contractor for new crane projects.
